Volunteer Benefits
Meal Tickets
Volunteers who donate at least 3.5 hours while in the hospital, may eat in the Archway Cafe. Maximum amount allowed is $3.00
Parking
Five parking spaces in the visitor/patient parking lot have been allocated for volunteer parking.
Worker's Compensation
Volunteers are covered by the University worker's compensation should they injure themselves while volunteering.
Flu Shots
Free flu shots are given in the fall through Staff Health Services.
Gift Shop
Volunteers receive a 15% discount when making a purchase in the Four Seasons Gift Shop.
Pharmacy
Discounts on over-the-counter items are given at all University Hospitals Pharmacies.
Recognition
A holiday reception for volunteers is given in December and a service recognition meal if given during National Volunteer Week in April.
Ellis Fischel Cancer Center Auxiliary
In addition to volunteering in the hospital, the Auxiliary adds the extra ingredient of "care" through projects for patients. Membership in the Auxiliary is not a requirement for volunteers. Volunteers have an opportunity to join the Auxiliary and participate in their activities.
