Mid-Missouri Lung Cancer Suport Group
Sponsored in part by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
For patients living with lung cancer and their families and friends. Group meets the the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Donrey room of Reynolds Alumni Center in Columbia . Group is led by an Ellis Fischel advanced practice nurse and licensed social worker with support provided by a University Physician pulmonologist. Planned topics include making sense of lunch cancer types, diagnosis and treatments; learning methods of better breathing and exercises, navigating through the stress of insurance and other financial concerns; how to communicate with family, friends and the health-care team; coping skills and emotional support for patients and families; staying healthy through good nutrition and pain management.
