Visiting Hours and Guidelines
Visiting Hours
Stop by the Information Desk or the Admissions Desk in the main lobby to check on the patient's location.
- General visiting hours are from noon to 9 p.m. daily.
- The intensive care unit have hours designed to meet the needs of their patients. Inquire about these special hours at the Information Desk in the main lobby or call the unit.
Visitor lounges
Lounges are located on each patient floor near the main elevators and in the main lobby. Overnight sleeping is not allowed in the visitor lounges. A list of hotels is available from Social Services, Admissions or the Information Desk.
Here are a few suggestions to make your visit more pleasant for our patient and you:
- A brief visit generally is best.
- Let the patient guide the conservation.
- If the patient's door is closed, or if a sign is posted, please check at the nurses' station before entering.
- Do not sit on the patient's bed.
- If you wish to bring a gift, consider a book or puzzle or something to help pass the time. Flowers and small potted plants are popular, although please be aware that flowers are not allowed in intensive care units.
- If the person you are visiting is sharing a room, please respect the privacy of both patients.
- Please limit visits to two people at a time.
- For security reasons, visitors must leave the hospital by 9 p.m.
- Visitors may not store personal belongings in patient rooms or visitor lounges.
- Children younger than 13 must be screened for illness before visiting patient floors. Please check at the Information Desk in the main lobby, or with a nurse on the patient's floor, for more information.
